The Templer Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our primary purpose is to provide financial and practical support to enable terminally ill and disabled children to live and – when the time comes – to die with dignity. Our attention is currently focused on supporting children living in poverty in Michigan U.S.A. and in southern Africa.
The Templer Foundation is firmly committed to social enterprise; finding ways to generate sustainable revenue streams that will fund social programs and serve disadvantaged populations. The Detroit Urban Farm Project is our flagship offering.

In 1996 the founder and President, Paul Templer survived – and lost his arm – in an attack by an enraged hippopotamus. This experience gave him a first hand insight into the world of the disabled. In 2005 Paul’s four-month old daughter was diagnosed with a relatively rare neurological condition and had surgery to remove a brain tumor. This experience gave him a first hand insight into the world inhabited by terminally ill children and their families.
