Leadership at Templer Foundation
The Templer Foundation enjoys an extremely committed board of directors who possess the relevant competencies to successfully design, implement and run a successful social enterprise:
President, Paul Templer
Paul began his career in Africa, guiding tourists through the dangerous waters of the Zambezi River, until “a bad day at the office”—a deadly hippo attack—forced him to rebuild his life and career. Today, he is the CEO of Templer Consulting, a global consulting practice that specializes in leadership development, conflict resolution, and guiding organizations so that they can better navigate the turbulent waters of the ever-changing business world. He is also a sought-after keynote speaker, inspiring audiences from all walks of life on how to create the lives they want—one decision at a time. He recently co-authored Success Simplified with Stephen Covey et al – revealing simple solutions that produce measurable results in business and in life. A dedicated husband and father, Paul and his family live in Michigan where they have established the Templer Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting disabled and terminally ill children.
Executive director, Kyle McCormick
Kyle is a seasoned senior Operations Executive and Management Consultant who specializes in business process re-engineering. He has more than 25 years of experience in information technology and automation systems in the manufacturing industry.
Kyle earned his BSc in Electrical Engineering and a MSc in Business Administration with an emphasis in Industrial Management. He is a Michigan native and lives with his wife Janet and a couple of dogs. His two college aged children have flown the coop and his outside interests include civic involvement in church and government, all sports (especially water sports), motorcycling, golf and home restoration.
Treasurer, Jeff Schultz
Jeffrey Schultz is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience helping individuals and closely-held businesses with their tax and accounting needs. He started Schultz & Associates, CPA, PLC in 2003 as a sole practitioner with a goal of providing personalized advisory services to less than 50 clients. Today, Jeff and his team advise over 600 clients.
In addition to his work with the Templer Foundation, he is also a board member of the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority.
Jeff spends most of his free time with his wife Lori and enjoys taking photographs, riding his bike, gardening, baking bread and watching his alma mater, the University of Michigan, play football.
Russ Russell
Russ has extensive experience in the non-profit world and currently holds a key leadership role with Forgotten Harvest, the primary organization addressing the issue of food insecurity in Detroit.
Bill Greene
Bill runs WK Greene & Associates, a strategic marketing practice.
Darryl Wakefield
Darryl grew up on a farm in Zimbabwe before moving to South Africa where he and his three children now live in Johannesburg. Fifteen years in leadership roles with organizations focused on health and hygiene helped prepare him for the last three years where he has spent most of his time engaged in social enterprise initiatives; fund raising and – with a focus on hydroponics and grain crops – developing numerous Small Scale and Commercial Agricultural Projects in Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
